CHACHA
https://www.chacha.com/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChaCha_(search_engine)
On January 3, 2008 ChaCha launched a new textChaCha service that allows users to ask questions and receive answers via text message. Unlike similar mobile search services ChaCha doesn't require special character codes to get results. A plain sentence question will get an answer along with a link to the answer source.
callChaCha launched its beta version on April 1, 2008, while discontinuing its less effective guided web search. Users can call 1-800-2-CHACHA and ask a question after the prompt. The question will then be transcribed into an SMS query. The answer then will be received by the caller in a text message.
What is chacha's possible business model?
- selling phone lists to vendors based on psychographic models created of the questions asked
- eventual subscription service
- ads at the end of text message – can tailor to individual
